Raising Wildflowers Cooperatives

~A Charlotte Mason Inspired Community~

Our Mission:

A beautiful collaborative of families created to educate, equip, and encourage others who have chosen to school their own children.

What we offer:

Christ-based and grounded in our love for freedom in education & parenting, Raising Wildflowers is a relational community.  We provide Homeschool 101 and Charlotte Mason workshops for new homeschooling mothers, Book Buddies clubs with a lending library, a weekly Charlotte Mason inspired cooperative with consideration for families with special needs/adopted children, and Mother Culture with opportunities to grow in friendships.

Who we are:

A collaborative of mothers (and some fathers!) who have embraced the need for community, including supporting those raising special needs children or facing difficult journeys. We want all families to have access to a simple, hands-on learning, outdoor atmosphere for their children.

We believe that all children learn in the context of loving, respectful relationships with the mother as the primary teacher.

Raising Wildflowers

Cooperative Community

Wildflowers is a collaborative community where we gather for weekly days of learning. During summer and winter breaks we fellowship at the lake or parks, hiking, and exploring nature. We meet monthly as mothers for fellowship, crafting, and classes. Additionally, our fathers meet monthly to support one another.

Our cooperative option is a beautiful blend for families who are happy with their homeschool but would love for their children to attend a weekly program.

Wildflowers families have access to a growing lending library and reading clubs through Book Buddies. Titles include fiction and non-fiction: Christian living, parenting, home educating, special needs, and adoption.

Current active families have priority on our cooperative waiting-list. This includes those who are Book Buddies sponsors and/or attend free parent education workshops.

Raising Wildflowers Cooperative Classes:

Our cooperative class terms run for 16 weeks summer/fall and again winter/spring. Families are required to commit to each term.

Core co-op classes for secondary girls ages 12 to 19 are offered on Mondays and/or Wednesdays 9:45-3:00 in central Limestone county, Alabama. Our girls are enjoying core classes such as history, geography, ecology, conservation, literature & writing, homemaking skills, trades, watercolor, pottery, art journaling, baking, business and entrepreneurship.

Tuesday drop-off and Thursday family naturalist cooperatives meet in northwest Limestone county, and offers classes for all ages of children and their Mamas from 9:45 to 3:00.

Our lovely farm co-op begins with time to gather & greet one another, Morning Rally (prayer, hymn song, poetry, picture study, and folk song), and young naturalist study with journaling. We enjoy a community lunch before afternoon classes which may include: botany, birding, gardening, wild art, woodcarving, herbalism, conservation, ecosystems, lost skills, handcrafts, and fun classes for our littlest Wildflowers.

We include our sweet, hard-working Mamas by hosting Bible studies, handcrafts, wellness workshops, and homeschool help during Thursdays cooperatives.

We currently have very limited family spaces for all ages. A parent meeting is required for all new families. Get connected by emailing: northalabamawildflowers@gmail.com

Parents are required to aide in 1 class and take a class.

“When I first found Wildflowers I was floundering. I found a group of people and a great leader in Nicole, who helped me better understand how to teach my kids. Through 6 years of developing our own co-op method together, my children made life long friendships and I learned about so many different styles in which to home school. Especially what was the most important for my 9 children: God, spending time with His creation and relationships with people of all ages. Everything else in life builds on top of that foundation. The time I spent in Wildflowers Cooperative has been invaluable to my children and my own education.”

-Aerial, 2016-2022 Wildflowers family

“I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to Nicole and the Wildflowers Community for such a wonderful experience attending your co-op! Learning while spending time in nature was very therapeutic for my child and I. I think one of the highlights for us was watching the sheep shearing up close! What an experience! The mom classes offered were very enjoyable.”

-Kimberly, 2021/22 Wildflowers family

“I love coop so much. My boys ask to play outside even when we get home and they are so dirty, I just love it. Thankful for Nicole and Yolanda!”

“The question is not, -- how much does the youth know? when he has finished his education -- but how much does he care? and about how many orders of things does he care? In fact, how large is the room in which he finds his feet set? and, therefore, how full is the life he has before him?”
