NSANYUSE OKUKULABA!
I am happy to see you!
We are so excited to have you on this journey with us— we have seen the goodness of the Lord through our obedience and we cannot wait to share all the beautiful things He is doing and will do.
You will be hearing a lot from me (Kristianna) and Sarah, so I just want to do a quick introduction and story behind how we met.
I met Sarah in 2016 through a mutual friend, I loved Sarah from the moment she got in my face and said “we are going to be friends!” She added me on facebook and then for the next year we didn’t even really talk. Until one day I sent her a message and told her to come over for dinner. She came. The rest is history, we became besties. She was there for me through the good, the bad and the ugly. We have had the most insane adventures together and have laughed until we cried over cultural differences and stories from around Kampala. If you ever visit Uganda you will probably find us in a coffee shop discussing our next project or outreach, in the village playing a game of netball or eating local foods under the village mango tree. She’s become the friend I can call in the middle of the night and know she will pick up the phone. And I know I am that friend for her as well.
Sarah completed her degree in Community Development and Social Justice, and has always wanted to give back to her community. She has always shared the need for The Wildflowers Foundation, but it wasn’t until 2020 that we felt the Lord was really calling us into partnership and starting our own organization.
I began making trips to her village, about a two hour journey from Kampala (where I live), and quickly fell in love with her family, the community and the young women there. My mom has also visited and felt that same pull; there’s something special there. There’s deep joy and beauty. And yes, there is great need, but that doesn’t overshadow the good.
So, after prayer and consulting a lawyer we jumped in. That’s where we are now, deep in paperwork and ready to see the Lord’s faithfulness through it all. We are glad you are here, we are glad you are walking with us, we know the Lord will do glorious things through the work of our hands (yes, yours included as you’ve generously decided to partner with us!).
